At hipages, we are really proud of our 50/50 gender diversity (which is almost unheard of in our industry) and we appreciate and welcome all differences. We believe our diverse and inclusive work culture greatly contributes to our success as a business and we understand that diversity in thinking plays a critical role in innovation and aligning to our customers experience.
One of our biggest learnings so far on our journey to be D&I thought leaders in the tech industry, is the importance of simply “understanding”. When we take the time to understand we are more accepting of each other, our differences and our backgrounds.
Our people come first. We want every employee to come into work as their true genuine self and most importantly, feel happy, be heard, respected and valued. We conduct regular employee pulse surveys followed by action teams who develop recommendations and oversee their implementation. We are a fast growing business and we know we need to be proactive in ensuring that our diverse and inclusive culture is not lost as we grow.
We want to take part in the wider societal push for gender diversity and increasing the pool of female talent, especially in the technology industry. This is why we offer an annual scholarship specifically for women studying STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths). We also have a Head of Diversity and Inclusion, Adz is one of our female engineers who dedicates 20% of her time ensuring we continue to push the diversity envelope and help realise real change.
