Perhaps our “other, unwritten vision” is to create a business that people feel proud to work at. I’m very proud of the great work culture we have at hipages – a collaborative, energised and innovative team. Each plays a critical role in driving the success of our platform and keeping nimble as we strive to go above and beyond for our customers. Remaining agile and trusting each other has never been more important during a time of lockdowns which have truly tested company cultures around the world.

For this reason, we’re incredibly honoured to be recognised as one of Australia’s Best Places to Work, having just been awarded second place in the WRK+ Best Place to Work 2021 List, as reported in The Australian today.

I’m humbled to share that 93% of our team say hipages is a great place to work, and that they feel a sense of pride when we talk about our successes and the impact that this has towards delivering on our purpose.

In a “normal year” this would be an outstanding result, however the truth is, there’s been nothing normal about the last year, so to achieve this is a true testament to the resilience and tenacity of our team.
An important part of the hipages business in making it one of the Best Places to Work is maintaining our diversity targets, set each financial year by our Board of Directors across gender, age, culture, ethnicity and sexual orientation – something that we’ve placed increased emphasis on since 2016.

2021 marks our third year that we have proudly maintained a company wide 50/50 gender diversity. Not only is this incredibly rare in the technology industry, but to also have equal representation of women in the Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors, is something we’re extremely proud of.

While our team has come up against incredible adversity over the last year, it’s encouraging to see such pleasing results, confirmed by the Best Place to Work accolade. I look forward to continuing this momentum well into FY22, and beyond, supported by the amazing team that keeps me inspired everyday!
